Whether you are new to the area or to church life – or attend church regularly – we hope this site will give you all the information you need about High Street Baptist Church, Tring.
Our main time of worship together is on Sundays at 10.30am, with something for all ages. A lot more happens throughout the week. With facilities that are available to the local community for meetings and activities, there is always something going on. Click on any of the links to explore the site and if you can’t find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us.
We are really excited to be part of our local community and are concerned about making the Christian faith understandable and relevant in our homes, at our places of work or education and in our leisure times. We want everyone to feel included. If you are planning to visit us, please do so. You are always welcome.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see you in our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears that we may hear the cries of the hungry,
the cold, the frightened, the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts that we may love each other as you love us.
Renew in us your spirit. Lord, free us and make us one.
We are a community of Christians who seek to follow Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives and to offer real friendship and belonging to all.
What should I expect?
What time does the service start?
The service starts at 10:30am each Sunday morning and normally finishes by 11:45. On arriving you will be greeted by a member of the church, who will be happy to show you to a seat and help you feel settled. We offer refreshments both before and after the service.
Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything or be singled out in any way?
We are an inclusive church and want you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your time with us, and we will not put you on the spot or embarrass you. An offering box is available on entering the worship area, but visitors are under no pressure to contribute, although welcome to do so.
Do I have to know a lot about Christianity to understand the service?
You do not have to have prior knowledge to understand what goes on, and we always welcome people who have questions.
Is the church accessible?
We are a fully wheelchair-accessible building and there is a ramp through the gateway to the left of the main front steps and we have wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities in the back foyer. We also have a hearing loop. If you have any queries regarding any other particular needs, please do not hesitate to contact the church office.
